Hudson,
I cannot believe you are 11 years old today. You are becoming a young man! I have loved watching you grow up and look forward to the years to come. You may struggle at times, the next few years are not going to be easy as you grow and figure out who you are. But I want you to know how much I love you, how much your Daddy and I both love you. We are with you always, will support you and love you, no matter what decisions you make and no matter what else is going on in our lives. You and your sister are, and always have been, our #1 priority.
I pray that one day, when you are old enough, I will show you this blog, I will let you see a little bit more about me that you may be too young to understand just yet. But when that day comes, I hope you will understand that I love you and that everything your Daddy and I do is because we love you, and we want you to become the best man you can be.
You have such a wonderful heart, Hudson! You are so strong and smart! You can make up raps like no one else, and you are such a great dancer. I know you don't think so, but you get that from your Daddy. And your future wife will love that about you! You make me laugh and smile all the time. You are kind and gentle, and very thoughtful, such a sweet boy you are!
I hope you are having a blessed day at school, and I can't wait to see your smiling face this afternoon. I love you buddy! Happy Birthday!
Love,
Julie

Hudson's Birthday
For Hudson's birthday, we went to Mac Daddy's in Cape Carteret. They have a driving range, putter golf, go karts, an indoor arcade, and bowling. Being winter time, only the driving range, arcade and bowling were open. So we tried all three!

Almost ready for the pros!

Isn't he handsome?!

Hudson is a pretty good bowler, even though he did get to use the bumpers! That was until he tried the "granny shot"!

School Parties
The day before Thanksgiving Hudson and Lily's classes each had parties. Lily's class had a feast of all different foods, even sushi, yummo! And Hudson's class had a pie bash. Hudson ate six different pieces of pie! Yikes! But we all had a fun time!
Lily decided to tell me the morning of the party that she needed a pilgrim costume! Oh the joys of motherhood! I knew I at least had to make a hat! Couldn't let her be the only one without! So what did I do, you wonder? Grabbed some elmer's glue, some construction paper, and yarn, and headed to work to look up directions on how to make a pilgrim hat! Well, I suppose it turned out all right, you tell me! And in case you were wondering, not many kids dressed up, and Lily was the only one with a hat!
After five minutes of coaxing, she finally made a half-way serious face!

A few pics from Hudson's race
Hudson just coming out of the starting gate, he is the third racer on the right.
Hudson taking back the start of the race. And no, he is not about to fall over, that is how far he leans the bike over to get around the corners when he is going sooo fast! Crazy, huh!?

Hudson's spa...

So last week the kids got to stay up late, well until ten that is, due to Tropical Storm Hanna since school was cancelled on Friday. After a few minutes of complete silence, I went upstairs to check on them. And much to my delight and complete surprise, Hudson was giving Lily the full treatment! Hair, makeup, the works! She even had cotton balls on her eyes, in lieu of cucumbers of course. You'll have to excuse Hudson for his lack of clothing, the upstairs AC has been out for a week! Just thought y'all might like to see how sweet siblings can be when they want to! Just one of those moments that makes my heart smile!
